When the refrain of the repeated “dance with me” played I cried. I actually cried. Beautiful, mellow, uplifting and fitting tribute.
This is a nice one considering the other ones that aren’t that good…Now the purpose of the Mix is give more Energy to the song in order to be blasted on the dance floor but most of this mixes so far can’t keep up with the energy from the classic version !

This has a nice mellow vibe, yet you you can still dance to it. The repetitious, “dance with me”, parts give this classic a new interpretation. Nice job, MAW. Thanks for keeping Donna’s voice on this one, front and center.
This one is straight up classy and honors Donna’s amazing vocals. Every track should keep THE VOiCE central to the remix. I really hope VERVE will do her proud and make this a top notch release. I can live with all of them except WTMS without Donna’s vocals. OTR is a stretch but I guess every album should have an experimental track so if they want to leave that one, I can live with it. NO dubs please, because we need to hear THE VOICE. Blend all of these remixes into a non- stop, continuous play album similar to some of her earlier works. Good luck VERVE. Excited about the release. The originals will never be bettered, but this is a very good stab at bringing the song into a modern day setting – very ‘Get Lucky’ by Daft Punk’, and let’s face it, the new Daft Punk project and it’s inclusion/celebration of all things Moroder is what’s most likely set this Donna Summer project in motion. All good.
I totally thought of daft punk too and get lucky. This is my favorite mix so far, but last dance is probably my most favorite song of all time.
Initially I disliked it BUT once I put my Bose headphones on… It completely changed my mind. I like it:)
I have yet to purchase the forthcoming cd project, ‘Love you love you Donna.’ Nevertheless, I can’t wait to buy the cd on Itunes, to hopefully enjoy listening to what I think that should have been done a long time ago(a remix cd of Donna Summer’s hits).Respectfully, in retrospect, it greieves me that the music industry (& her a record label) could not have honored her as the ‘Queen of Dance’ (Disco) while she was still living. Nonetheless, I’m still very pleased & thrilled that someone (Dj’s, producers, record execs.)have decided to push the envelope & to celebrate the one who helped to breath life into the disco genre, or what we call today, club/dance music. In the meantime, I wait with great anticipation to purchase this cd, and I only hope & trust that the Dj’s etc. have given our Queen a great honor through the remixing of her classic tunes & giving it a fresh new sound, along with a club funky beat, but more importantly, ensuring that Donna’s vocals are crisp (sharp) and always at full throttle!!! Thank you Verve Records for your boldness on this project, and more importantly, the Dj’s who gave Donna Summer’s music new life.
