  1. Working The Midnight Shift is one of the most exquisite of the many, many exquisite moments from Donna. I hope the remixers have realised that, given it the respect it deserves, and somehow managed to lift it to an even more beautiful place…not an easy task. Given the absolute disaster of the On The Radio remix, I am nervous.

    • I agree with what you say but we have to remember one thing – this is just a remix project, albeit a high profile one. We will always have the original versions, they are there forever and no one will ever quite capture the magic of those recordings. I love the new Hot Chip mix of ‘Sunset People’, but when all is said and done it’s the full length 1979 version that remains in my heart. This new album will do one great job – and it will bring people to the dancefloor once again to the ethereal sounds of Summer. We’ve known all along, so a little nudge in the right direction can only be a good thing.

    • I’m worried about this mix too! Such a unique song – it’s either going to blow my mind or make me hide behind a rock! On The Radio was horrible and I’m shocked they allowed it – it should have been rejected in my opinion!

      • Ditto about On The Radio mate. It should be scrapped altogether. It’s just rubbish. How they could take something so beautiful and reduce it to that is beyond me…and the decision to include it on what is meant to be a tribute to our Queen is just insulting.

        • The “On The Radio (Jacques Greene Remix)” was included, likely, to appeal to the music listening audience that listens to that particular style of music. Yes, they do exist:) I’ve, personally, never heard a song remixed that way, but I am 44 years old and I haven’t been to the clubs in many, many years. If today’s younger generation is listening to what Jacques Greene did to “On The Radio”, then it was a good move to include it. It’s about the big picture, not just about what any one person likes. There should be something for everybody on this forthcoming compilation. I might not like one of the remixes, but another person will and vice versa. That seems fair. I can respect a person’s opinion about “On The Radio”, but if I were involved in this project, I would already know, ahead of time, that some fans aren’t going to like Jacques Greene’s mix, but I would also know some will like it. That’s just how it goes in music.

        • To be honest absolutely LOVE Jacques Greene’s Mix but find the Hot Stuff remix very BORING and bland.
But that’s my taste, so bring on those experimental remixes on the Donna Project!

  2. Fantastic!
    I can´t sleep hahaha.!!

  3. I have just heard it and it’s not Donna Summer! What is the point, someone at Verve please explain? And, please tell me (and many others here) that this is NOT what’s going to appear on the final album?

  4. Yes, this cannot possibly be part of the album. This is a cover, not a remix. Sounds like a demo made before adding Donna’s voice.

  5. It’s obvious to any Donna’s fan (or to anybody who has ever listened to her beautiful, powerful and distinctive voice) that the vocals used to make this mix aren’t hers at all. Please, don’t ruin the great idea of making a tribute remix album celebrating her voice, legacy and persona with this cover version.

  6. Nice mix if only Donna Summer was singing. Take it off the album or fix it.

  7. Please no cover versions on this album! The music part is fine but it needs Donna Summer original vocals!!!!
